New Cabinet led by CM Pinarayi Vijayan assumes charge in Thiruvananthapuram

In Kerala, the new Cabinet led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took oath and assumed charge yesterday. The ruling Left Democratic Front has retained power breaking the four decade old convention of LDF and UDF alternating the power in the State.

The 21-member cabinet took the oath of office administered by the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday



afternoon. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was sworn in first, followed by the remaining 20 ministers.

The ceremony was held with complete compliance to COVID protocols with a total of less than 500 selected participants. The first cabinet meeting of the new Govt was held soon after the function.The first session of the new assembly will begin from Monday.
