NewsClick founder's judicial custody extended till October 25 in anti-terror case

The Delhi High Court on Friday extended the judicial custody of NewsClick's founder and Editor-in-Chief, Prabir Purkayastha, and its Human Resources (HR) Head, Amit Chakraborty, till October 25.

Purkayastha and Chakraborty were produced in court on expiry of their 10 days of judicial



custody.

Both were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell which had registered an FIR in August under sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) UAPA Act and the IPC. According to the FIR, the duo are accused of receiving foreign funds from China to disrupt India's sovereignty and cause disaffection against the country.
