National Institute of Fashion Technology-NIFT yesterday conducted a Convocation Ceremony for its 2023-24 graduating batch of students at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. On the occasion, Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh conferred degrees to over 800 students of various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in design, management and technology.

In his address, Mr Singh exhorted the students to be part of India’s unicorn ecosystem. He emphasized the need to incorporate AI and Blockchain technology into the syllabus of all 19 NIFT

campuses. The minister added that India is marching towards Vikshit Bharat and the fresh graduates from NIFT should become job givers rather than job seekers within the next 4 to 5 years.

The Minister congratulated all the graduating students and gave them a vision to build Brand India by reinforcing the glory of the country in the field of textiles. Our correspondent reports that the joint convocation included students from four NIFT campuses in Delhi, Raebareli, Kangra and Panchkula.
