Maharashtra’s Animal Husbandry Minister Sunil Kedar has informed that there is no case of Bird Flu in the State. In a statement, the minister said, rigorous screening is being conducted in view of the bird flu incidents being reported in many States and a level of ness is also being managed.
Mr. Kedar said, random testing of feces and blood samples of birds under the Bird Flu screening
programme is conducted every year. He added that over 5000 samples have been tested in 2020-21 and so far no sample has turned positive. He said directives have been issued to watch out for migratory birds, adding that poultry and meat sellers have nothing to worry about as yet. He urged poultry owners and others to instantly report instances of unexplained bird deaths, if any.
