Injury to Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's leg in Nandigram was accidental, a detailed report presented to the Election Commission says. The EC had sought this report from special observers Vivek Dubey and Ajay Nayak.
Sources tell India Today that the special observers in their report ruled out the possibility that the injury was the result of an attack. While stating that there is no evidence of an attack on Mamata Banerjee's convoy, the special
observers said she was in the midst of heavy police cover at the time of the incident.
Expressing displeasure over Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay's earlier report in this regard, the Election Commission has now sought a detailed report from him.
Special police observer Vivek Dubey and special observer Ajay Nayak inspected the accident site in Bengal's Nandigram before submitting their detailed report to the EC on Saturday.
