Collection of parking charges at all airports in the country has been suspended till midnight of November 21 in the wake of demonetisation programme. The decision came amid people facing inconvenience in collecting enough money after the decision to demonetise currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination.
“The Ministry of Civil Aviation decided to suspend the
collection of parking charges at all airports till midnight of 21 November 2016. This has been done in order to facilitate the smooth movement of passengers,” said an official statement.
Meanwhile, low-cost carrier SpiceJet said it will accept old notes for services and sale of tickets only from airport counters till midnight of November 24.
