Union HRD Minister
Prakash Javadekar clarified that the government does not plan to bring any
change in the constitutionally guaranteed reservation system in the new
education policy. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Mr. Javdekar said the
government will soon place the draft before education experts for a debate and
thereafter the draft policy will be made ready to be placed before the Cabinet.
The
minister added
that the government wants to usher in all-inclusive quality education that
places emphasis on social justice and accountability; adding that people can
still make suggestions on the policy till 30th September on mygov.in.
Replying to a query, Mr. Javdekar informed that more than 20 lakh posts of teachers across the country are lying vacant from Kindergarten to IIT level.
