Entire North India is reeling under severe cold wave conditions. The India Meteorological Department, IMD, has forecast that cold to severe cold wave conditions will continue in isolated pockets of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana today. It has predicted minimum temperatures to fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over parts of Central and East India during the next two days with no significant change thereafter. 

The IMD also said that dense to very dense fog will continue in parts of northwest India during the next three days, including parts of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog will continue in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim and Madhya Pradesh today and over Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura during the next three



days., 

The IMD has also forecast light to moderate rainfall over parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep today. It is also expected that Northeast Monsoon will end by the 15th of this month in parts of Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka. Light rain and snowfall are expected over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh today.

The IMD has said, very dense fog conditions were registered in Northwest India with zero visibility in parts of Delhi-NCR today. Low visibility is also reported from parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Northeast India is also reeling under cold weather and dense fog with low visibility in parts of West Bengal and Assam.
