Notifications for the fourth phase of general elections were issued today in different states that go to polls on the 29th of this month. The last date for filing of nominations is 9th April and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is 12th April.
In Maharashtra, 17 constituencies spread across Mumbai, Konkan and Northern parts of the state will go to the polls in the fourth phase on April 29th. The constituencies are Bhiwandi, Dhule, Dindori, Kalyan, Maval, Mumbai North, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai-South, Mumbai South-Central, Nandurbar, Nashik, Palghar, Shirdi, Shirur, and Thane. Old allies BJP-Shiv Sena and Congress-NCP have announced tie-ups for the polls.
In Rajasthan, 13 seats of the state will go to polls on 29th April and filing of nominations began today. "Nominations process for 13 Lok Sabha seats of the state out of total 25 seats started today. These include Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwada, Kota, and
Jhalawar-Baran constituencies.
Out of these, BJP has yet not declared its candidates for Barmer and Rajsamand seats. While Congress has announced its candidates for all 25 seats of the state. With the commencement of the nomination process, it is expected that the election campaign is soon to get momentum in the state.
Meanwhile, Congress has announced its candidates for remaining 6 seats of the state yesterday. It has fielded athlete Krishna Poonia against Col Rajyavardhan Rathore from Jaipur Rural Seat. Out of 6 candidates, four are new faces.
In Odisha, polling for six Lok Sabha seats and 42 Assembly seats will be held on April 29th. The Lok Sabha seats for 4th phase of the election are Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur.
In Bihar, during this phase, polling will be held in five constituencies namely Darbhanga, Ujjiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai and Munger.
