The notification for the second phase of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be issued today. 67 constituencies spread over 11 districts will go to polls in this phase on February 15. State Chief Electoral Officer T Venkatesh said that the filing of nominations will begin for this phase today and it will continue till January 27. Scrutiny will take place on January 30.
Candidates can withdraw their nominations till February 1.The nomination process of the first phase of polling is
already underway in 73 Assembly segments in 15 districts of western UP and January 24 is the last date for the filing of the nominations. CEO Mr Venkatesh said, in the second phase there are a total of two crore twenty eight lakh voters comprising 1.23-crore male, 1.04-crore female and 1,068 from the third gender.
There are 23,693 polling booths for the second phase of polling. The counting of votes for all the seven phases would be held on 11th of March 2017.
