Days after communal clashes erupted in Haryana, the state government on Friday transferred Nuh Deputy Commissioner Prashant Panwar. He has been replaced by Dhirendra Khadgata.

The order said Prashant Panwar, Deputy Commissioner, Nuh, and CEO of Mewat Development Agency, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary to Fisheries Department. Prashant Panwar will also be Administrator, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, Rohtak, and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Rohtak.

Meanwhile, Dhirendra Khadgata, who was at present Special Secretary, Environment, Forests and Wildlife Department and Administrator, HSVP, Rohtak, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Nuh, and CEO, Mewat Development Agency, Nuh, the order said.

Dhirendra Khadgata will also hold the charge of Special Secretary, Environment, Forests and Wildlife Department.

This comes hours after Nuh Superintendent of Police Varun Singla, who was on leave when deadly



communal clashes broke out at during Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) rally on Monday, was transferred.

Varun Singla will now be the superintendent of police, Bhiwani.

According to the Haryana government order, Narendra Bijarniya, who was holding the additional charge in Singla's absence, will be the new SP of Nuh.

Talking about the transfer of officials in the aftermath of the Nuh clashes, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said, "SP Nuh was on leave and SP Bhiwani was given the temporary charge - he has now been given the permanent charge.”

He added, “A few incidents were reported in Gurugram, additional force has been deployed there so that we can immediately such incidents and it does not happen again."

Six people, including two home guards and a cleric, died in the clashes that erupted in Nuh over an attempt to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession. The violence had spread to Gurugram and other places.
