Odisha has dispatched over ten thousand tons of medical oxygen to more than ten states so far. State government has put in place a special cell to ensure smooth dispatch of oxygen through the green corridor to the needy states. 

At the same time, state government has directed the concerned officials to constantly monitor oxygen availability in hospitals across the state as well. It was revealed in a review meeting held by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in capital Bhubaneswar yesterday that currently Odisha consumes about 53 tons of oxygen per day, while sending more than 10270 metric tons of oxygen to other states to help them save precious lives from covid-19.

in the meeting that the covid-19 test positivity rate in Odisha remained at about 20% for the last 15 days along with a low death rate of 0.40%. The active caseload of the state that now stands at 94829, represents 2.7 % of that of the entire country.
 
Meanwhile, the state government has sanctioned an amount of 20 crore rupees to set up 16 RT PCR test centres in as many districts to help tackle covid-19 through early case detection. On the other hand, even as the state is now midway through the 14 days' state wide lockdown, the police have collected a fine of more than 28 crore rupees from the violators, in their bid to enforce covid-19 preventive protocols across the state.
