Bhubaneshwar: Odisha government has imposed fresh set of covid-19 restrictions across the state to contain the spread of Omicron. In an order, it has put a ban on zero night celebration and New Year welcome functions in places like hotels, clubs, restaurants, parks and convention halls.
Similarly, the Christmas celebration has been allowed in churches with a maximum of 50 participants with strict
observance of covid 19 protocols.
Marriage functions have been allowed without receptions and ancillary functions. Social gatherings and community feasting have been disallowed.
The restrictions will be effective today and from 31 December this year till the 2nd January next year. Odisha has so far reported four cases of Omicron infection.
