Odisha Government has restricted gathering in marriage functions to 200 persons and those in funerals and related rites to 50. Earlier, the number of people allowed in marriage and funeral was 500 each. The revised guidelines to this effect come into force from the 26th of this month. 

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday asked the collectors and Superintendents of Police to closely monitor the adherence of



covid-19 protocols in their respective districts.

In a virtual meeting yesterday, he re-emphasized the enforcement of use of masks in public places while asking the concerned authorities to jack up testing, tracking and treatment. Meanwhile, the state is close to vaccinating around 20 lakh beneficiaries  with more than half of the number being seniors citizens.
