Odisha government has decided to undertake a three month long house to house survey for covid symptoms and comorbid conditions in people. The statewide survey, to commence from the 24th of this month, will be conducted by the ASHAs and ANMs. For this, they will be incentivised with one thousand rupees each per month for three months.
This was revealed in an all-party meeting chaired by the speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Dr Surya Narayan Patra in capital Bhubaneswar yesterday.
Announcing this in the meeting, Chief Minister Nabin Pattnaik
said, community engagement is the main pillar of the state's covid 19 management. Saying that the sarpanches across the state will continue to have the powers of a district collector in enforcing lock down at the micro level, Mr Patnaik also announced a financial assistance of ten thousand rupees each to about forty six thousand Gram Kalyan Samitis or Village Welfare Committees to work for covid-19 containment and control. Onn the occasion, the speaker Dr Patra administered the oath to MLAs to continue to fight against covid-19 to the finish.
