Vijayawada: South Central Railway has cancelled diverted and rescheduled several trains following the major train accident in Odisha's Balasore in which over 288 people were killed.
The trains which were cancelled include Howrah-SMVT Bengaluru (12863), Howrah-Chennai Central (12839), Howrah-Secunderabad (12703), Howrah-SMVT Bengaluru (12245), Shalimar-Hyderabad (18045), SMVT Bengaluru-Guwahati (12509), Chennai Central-Shalimar (12842) and Kanniyakumari-Howrah (1266).
Trains which have been diverted are: Santragachi-Chennai Central (22807) via Tata, Howrah-Mysuru (22817) via Tata, Chennai
Central-Howrah (12840) via Jaroli, Secunderabad-Shalimar (22850) via Jakhapura-Jaroli, SMVT Bengaluru-Guhawati (12509) via Vizianagaram-Titlagarh-Jharsuguda-Tata, Tambaram-New Tinsukia (15929) via Ranital-Jaroli, Silchar-Trivandrum (12508) via Kharagpur-Tata-Rourkela, Diburgarh-Kanniyakumari (22504) via Kharagpur-Tata-Rourkela, New Jalpaiguri-Chennai Central (22612) via AsansolAnara-Chandil-Soniyana-Rourkela and Diburgarh-Secunderabad (07047) via Batanagar-Kharagpur-Tata-Rourkela.
The Hyderabad-Shalimar (18046) train has been rescheduled by 180 minutes, according to a release from SCR on Saturday.
