One militant killed in encounter in Jammu & Kashmir

In Jammu & Kashmir, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed and an army soldier injured in an encounter at Buchroo village of Kulgam district yesterday. Police told that the militant has been identified as Dawood Sheikh. They said that acting on specific information about the presence of militants, the joint party of Army and J&K Police cordoned off the area and launched search operation. They said, the hiding militants fired upon



a search party triggering an encounter. 

Inspector General Police Kashmir Javed Mujtaba Gillani told that top Hizbul Mujahideen militant Dawood Sheikh was killed in the gunfight. The 21 year old Dawood was active since 2014 and the most wanted militant involved in a number of killings of army and police personnel. Army spokesman said the injured army jawan was in a stable condition recuperating in Army hospital.
