One terrorist killed in an encounter in Anantnag district

In Jammu and Kashmir, one terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Larnoo area of Anantnag district early this morning. 

The encounter broke out after a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Larnoo village following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. As the



security forces approached the suspected spot, the terrorists fired upon them and in retaliation, one terrorist was gunned down. The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained. One AK rifle has also been recovered from the encounter site.

The operation continued when reports last came in.
