Oothu records 54 cm rainfall in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, normal life in several districts has been thrown out of gear. In the past 24 hours, Oothu in Tirunelveli district received a maximum of 54 cm of rainfall. Other parts of Tirunelveli, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Tenkasi and Thanjavur recorded more than 20 cm of



rainfall. 

In Ariyalur, seven people including a six-month-old infant were rescued in the floods. District administrations have been advised to take necessary action depending on the flood situation.
