The Centre yesterday said, more than 34 crore Ayushman cards have been created under Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, AB-PMJAY in the country till 30th June this year. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said the scheme is implemented in 33 State and Union Territories except the National Capital Region of Delhi, West Bengal and Odisha. He said, a total number of 7.37 crore hospital admissions worth one lakh
crore rupees have been authorized under the scheme.
The Minister said the scheme aims to provide health cover of five lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to the beneficiaries. Mr Jadhav said eligible beneficiaries can avail of cashless healthcare services related to hospitalization across more than 29 thousand empanelled hospitals in the country.
