Over 8,700 public charging stations are operational in the country: Govt in RS

Over eight thousand seven hundred public charging stations are operational in the country. Minister of State for Heavy Industries, Krishan Pal Gurjar said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. He said, under Phase-2 of FAME-India Scheme, incentives are provided to buyers of



electric vehicles. 

The government formulated the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) India Scheme in 2015 to improve the infrastructure required for the large-scale use of electric vehicles.
