In Uttrakhand, under the PAHAL Yojna of the Union Government, gas subsidy of more than 17 lakh LPG consumers is being deposited in their accounts which is more than 92 percent of the total consumers. Over one lakh consumers have surrendered their subsidy in the state under the initiative.
More than 19 lakh 12 thousand consumers is being supplied with LPG regularly through 235 gas agencies of IOC,HPCL and BPCL in the State. Currently the subsidy is also being given without linking the Aadhhar number to the gas connection. So far one
lakh 42 thousand 5 hundred 77 LPG consumers have foregone their subsidy under give it-up of PAHAL Scheme in favour of the poor. Of these maximum consumers are from Dehradun, followed by Haridwar and Pauri Garhwal.
The Beneficiaries of the PAHAL Scheme are happy with initiative of the Union Government. One of the consumer benefiting from the scheme said Centre's initiative has put a considerable halt on black marketing of LPG cylinder . He said, the subsidy being deposited in the accounts is also promoting savings.
