Over seven lakh houses constructed under JNNURM

A total number of over seven lakh houses have been constructed so far under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal mission an Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna mission including subsumed projects of Rajiv Awas Yojna for urban poor and slum dwellers in all Metropolitan cities and Delhi.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Housing and urban poverty alleviation Rao Inderjit Singh



said, a total of one lakh 24 thousand houses are unoccupied in all metropolitan cities and a total of 75 thousand 430 houses are unoccupied in other small cities. He said, in pursuance of the government's vision of facilitating housing to all by 2022, Centre is implementing PMAY mission to provide assistance to all states and UT in addressing the housing requirement of the slum dwellers and urban poor.
