Are Pakistan's intelligence agencies are behind the disappearance of the two Indian Sufi clerics? The two clerics reportedly went missing on Thursday. Following the incident, Intelligence agencies in India have been gathering information and intercepts. Intelligence agencies say that they suspect the role of the ISI in the incident. We are gathering more information and keeping a close track on the same, an officer informed.
Earlier on Friday, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that she has taken up the matter with Islamabad. Swaraj said that she has requested Pakistan to update New Delhi on both the Indian nationals.
'Have taken up this matter with the Pakistan government, and requested them for an update on both the Indian nationals,' tweeted Swaraj.
Indian authorities have raised the matter with Pakistan's foreign office and the concerned

authorities have launched an investigation and are expected to clear all the questions within the next 24-hours. The two clerics have been identified as Asif Nizami and Nazim Nizami.
Both of them belong to Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin dargah. They travelled to Pakistan to visit their relatives in Karachi and then embarked on a pilgrimage to Lahore on March 13 to offer a chadar at Baba Farid's shrine. On March 14, they offered another chadar at the Data Darbar Sufi shrine, also in Lahore.
On March 15, when they reached the airport to take a return flight for Karachi, Nazim Nizami was stopped to clear some documentation and Syed Asif Nizami was asked to board the flight.
As per reports, one of them went missing in Karachi and the other in Lahore. The families of the clerics back in India tried to contact them through phones but their mobile phones have been switched off.
