Pakistan Army resorts to firing and shelling at LoC in Nowshera sector

Pakistan army again resorted to shelling and firing on forward posts and civilian areas along Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district last night. Nearly 1,700 people have been evacuated from shelling-hit areas.

Official sources said, initially, Pakistan army resorted to firing with automatic and semi-automatic weapons but later used



120mm and 82 mm mortars, leading to panic among the villagers, who were still putting up in their houses. 

Troops from this side retaliated and gave befitting response to Pakistan. Heavy exchange of mortar shelling and firing which started at 7 pm continued till 9 pm. No casuality has been reported from the Indian side.
