Jammu: A foreign terrorist from Pakistan along with a local IED expert, belongning to Jaish-e- Mohammad terrorist outfit, were both neutralised by the joint team of security forces in the close vicinity of Qasbayar village of South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday morning.
The Pakistani terrorist identified by the Jammu and Kashmir police as Furkan alias Ali Bhai was a ruthless category “A+” terrorist. He has been active in the area since 26 Jun 2020.
Police claimed, " Ali Bhai was sent into Kashmir to radicalise youth and incite them to take up arms to commit atrocities on innocent locals and prominent businessmen".
The second terrorist, Yassir Ah Parrey, a resident of Qasbayar, Pulwama, was a notorious category “B” terrorist who had joined JeM on 20 Jun 19. According to the police records, Parray was known to be associated with various Pakistani terrorists and acting as a guide for bringing them into Kashmir.
He was a known associate of Pakistani terrorist Abu Saifullah alias Lambu, who had planned
the Pulwama convoy attack on CRPF. He had orchestrated attacks on the Security forces using an improvised explosive device at Arihal on 17 Jun 2019.
According to a Srinagar based Defence spokesman, "the joint operation was launched by the security forces late wednesday night after receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. "The suspected house in the village was surrounded and cordoned off after midnight on 01 Dec. Call for surrender was given, however the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire upon the security forces. Intermittent exchange of fire kept taking place and at around 8:15 am, the two trapped terrorists were neutralised", Defence spokesman said in a written statement.
Two AK 47s, two pistols and other warlike stores were recovered from the encounter site.
Meanwhile, in a second incident a traffic police personnel received bullet injuries at Rajouri Kadal, Srinagar when terrorists opened fire in the area. The injured cop has been shifted to hospital.
