Palair bypoll on May 16

The Election Commission of India on Tuesday released the schedule for byelection for 113-Palair Assembly constituency in Khammam district. The seat fell vacant following the death of Congress MLA Ramreddy Venkat Reddy. 
Byelection would be held on May 16. According to schedule, notification for byelection would be issued on April 22. Nomination can be filed from April 22 and the last date for



nomination is April 29. The scrutiny of papers would be on April 30 and May 2 would be withdrawal. 
Elections would be held on May 16 and counting of votes on May 19. The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the Khammam district in which the whole or any part of the Parliamentary Constituency/ Assembly Constituencies going for byelection is included.
