Vijayawada: Chief Minister and TD national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has appointed Palla Srinivasa Rao as the president of the Andhra Pradesh unit of Telugu Desam.
Srinivasa Rao has been made the party’s state president after incumbent K. Atchannaidu quit the post following his appointment as a minister in the AP Cabinet.

Srinivasa Rao won the Gajuwaka Assembly seat by securing 1,57,703 votes against the YSRC nominee Gudiwada Amarnath, who got 62,468 votes.
As Rao won the seat with the highest majority in the entire AP, Naidu has entrusted him with the task of running the party in Andhra Pradesh as the state Telugu Desam president.
