Violence ravaged Panchkula appears to be gradually heading towards some state of normalcy a day after 31 persons were killed in violence that broke out after the conviction of Dera Sacha Sauda chief in a rape case.
Panchkula was the epicenter of the violence. 250 persons have been injured in the violence by Dera supporters. Curfew has been lifted in Panchkula, but
the situation continues to remains tense. Dera followers in lakhs who went on rampage on Friday have been driven out.
Many unclaimed bodies are lying in the mortuary of the local civil hospital. Panchkula Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Kumar has been suspended for failing to control the situation. Market places have opened shutters.
