The Indian Parliament will convene a special session on August 9 to mark the 75th anniversary of the Quit India Movement. A resolution has been passed to this effect.
All parties will express their views and a resolution will be passed affirming commitment to the nation.
Regular work like Question Hour and Zero Hour
are likely to be suspended to hold the special sitting. All parties will speak on the occasion.
A Sankalp or affirmation to the nation will be expressed through a resolution. The same would be read out by Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Sumitra Mahajan. The Rajya Sabha too is in the process of holding such a programme.
