Parsi community spread in various parts of the country is celebrating the New Year i.e. Pateti today. Community members have been visiting the agiary with family and friends since morning. Parsi families decorate their homes with red-eyed fish designs made of chalk along with beautiful floral decorations of marigolds, tuberose, etc. Sandalwood powders are also sprinkled all over the
house.
On this day, every Parsi home prepares traditional delicacies like ravo and suterfeni along with others. On this day community members bid the ongoing year with memories and remembering and preparing themselves for Nowruz. Some traditional households also follow the Muktad, that is, remembering the departed souls.
