The Patna High Court on Friday struck down Bihar government's anti-liquor act, terming it 'illegal'.The Nitish Kumar government had banned the sale and consumption of country and spiced liquor in rural areas from April 1 this year, but had allowed sale of
foreign liquor in towns and cities.
The controversial prohibition bill also came under sharp criticism ever since a provision was inserted that all members of a family, above the age of 18 years, would be jailed if liquor is found in the house.
