Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan sent slippers to all residents of a village in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, after noticing that many people there, including elderly women, were walking barefoot.

During his recent two-day tour of the Araku and Dumbriguda regions, Pawan Kalyan visited Pedapadu village in ASR’s Dumbriguda mandal to understand local issues, reported news agency ANI.

While interacting with the residents, he came across an elderly woman named Pangi Mithu who had no footwear. He also noticed that several others in the village were barefoot.

Deeply moved, the Deputy Chief Minister immediately inquired about

the population of the village. On learning that around 350 people lived there, he asked his office to arrange slippers for everyone.

Footwear was soon delivered and distributed to all residents of the village.

Villagers said they were overwhelmed by the gesture. “Our Pawan sir came and recognised our struggles,” one of them told the news agency, adding that no other leader had visited them or taken note of their problems before. The entire Dumbriguda mandal thanked the Deputy Chief Minister for the visit.

He was continuing his ASR tour which was scheduled to conclude on April 9, but was disrupted when his son was injured in a fire accident at his school in Singapore.
