The Telangana
Petroleum Dealers’ Association (TPDA) has demanded that the State government
immediately withdraw 5 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed by previous
government on transport charges on petroleum and LPG tankers.
Speaking
to
mediapersons here on Friday, TPDA, along with Telangana Petroleum Tank Trucks
Owners’ Association (TPTTOA), has also asked the Telangana government to
withdraw 14.5 per cent VAT on transport charges imposed by it since May 9,
2016. It warned the State government that it, along with TPTTOA, would observe
“transport bandh” on May 30 if the government failed to respond to its demand.
