Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that that the country is marching forward on the path where every citizen would get the benefits of development happening in the country without any discrimination. Addressing the centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University via video conferencing this morning, he appealed to all to come forward unitedly to make New India through Atma Nirbhar Bharat. He said, Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas is the mantra behind it.
 
Prime Minister Modi said that AMU Campus is like a Mini India and the diversity is not only the strength of this university but also of the entire country. He said we should work along to ensure that spirit of 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat' grows stronger day by day in the campus of Aligarh Muslim University.
 
Mr. Modi said, the school dropout rate among Muslim girls was more than 70 percent and this situation persisted for 70 years. He said the Government started Swachh Bharat Mission, built toilets in villages and toilets for school-going girls. Now this rate has fallen to nearly 30 percent.
 
Prime Minister said that the history of education attached to AMU is India's valuable heritage and AMU has worked to strengthen India's relations with many countries. He said that the research is done on



Urdu, Arabic, and Persian languages, and also research on Islamic literature in the university gives new energy to India's cultural relations with the entire Islamic world.
 
PM Modi said that the AMU in an unprecedented way helped the society during this crisis of coronavirus. Free tests for thousands, building isolation wards and plasma banks, and contributing a large amount to the PM Care Fund show AMU's seriousness in fulfilling their obligations to society.
 
PM also released postal stamps as part of the centenary celebrations of Aligarh Muslim University. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also joined the event via videoconferencing.
 
Prime Minister said that the new education policy will bring the nation forward and make it competent for the 21st century. He said that his government has increased the number of seats in education institutes. Before 2014 there were only 16 IITs in-country now their number has reached 23, there were only nine triple IITs now the number of triple IITs is 25. He said that before 2014 there were 13 IIMs and now there are 20 IIMs. The number of AIIMS has also increased from 7 to 22. 

Prime Minister also appealed to AMU students to make research on the freedom fighters of the country.
