New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level review meeting on Tuesday to discuss the progress made on schemes to be implemented based on his Independence Day speech. He had spoken about making two crore Lakhpati Didis, which is making two crore women engaged in Self-help Groups (SHGs) or Anganwadis Lakhpatis. During the meeting, he took stock of the various livelihood interventions planned to achieve this target.

Modi spoke about equipping 15 thousand women SHGs with drones for agriculture and related purposes. On this, he was given an overview of the plans to implement it, ranging from training of Women SHGs to monitoring of activity. He also reviewed the implementation strategy for increasing the number of Jan Aushadhi Stores in the country to 25 thousand from the current ten thousand to increase the reach of affordable medicines.
