Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds a key meeting at his residence today as top BJP leaders discuss the formation of the Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Uttarakhand governments. The meeting follows the BJP's unanimous decision to elect N Biren Singh the Chief Minister of Manipur for a second term. While UP Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath is set to continue at the helm for a second term, discussions are still underway for the selection of Chief Ministers for the two other states. It must also be noted that no details have yet been made available about the Cabinets that will be formed in UP and the other states.

The development also comes ahead of acting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath scheduled swearing-in ceremony on March 25. According to a PTI

report quoting sources, the BJP's UP legislature party will formally elect Chief Minister-designate Yogi Adityanath as its leader towards the end of next week. While the meeting had initially been scheduled for Monday, party leaders said that it is now likely to be held on March 24 - a day before Adityanath's swearing-in ceremony.
Union Home Minister Shah and former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das have been made observer and co-observer respectively for the government formation in Uttar Pradesh. The grand swearing-in ceremony is expected to be attended by a galaxy of senior BJP leaders, including PM Modi, Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national president J P Nadda. Several other central ministers are also likely to be in attendance.
