Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he distributed agricultural drones to girls in villages to break the social psyche that does not approve women driving even tractors. Speaking at India Today Conclave in Delhi, Mr. Modi said, he distributed 1,000 drones to women’s self-help groups in villages under the Namo Drone Didi Yojana. Prime Minister said, the Government is specifically selecting women to take on the responsibility, aiming to empower them economically and technologically.
Mr. Modi said, these drones will change the future of agriculture and women in villages.
The Prime Minister said that the BJP government, in the last 10
years, have developed an entirely new model of governance which focused on the person who was at the back of the list of priorities. Mr Modi asserted that India will continue to develop at a faster pace even though the entire world is caught in a whirlpool of uncertainty. Mr Modi highlighted that the ‘mood of the nation’ is to make India the world’s third-largest economy.
Prime Minister said that he does not work on delivering headlines, but deadlines. Mr. Modi noted that during the pre-2014 period, there were only a few hundred registered startups whereas this number stands at around 1.25 lakh today.
