PM Modi expresses his strong disppproval of incidents of toppling of statues

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his strong disapproval of incidents of the toppling of statues in some states. 

Mr Modi talked to Home Minister Rajnath Singh over the issue. The Home Ministry has issued the advisory to states over the incidents of the toppling of statues in certain parts of the country. The Ministry has taken serious note of such incidents of vandalism. 

The Ministry has asked the States that they must



take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents. Persons indulging in such acts must be sternly dealt with and booked under relevant provisions of law. 

Meanwhile, BJP said it does not subscribe to any kind of provoking or disrespectful statements and actions of vandalism towards leaders like Periyar. In a tweet, party General Secretary Muralidhar Rao said the BJP condemns outrightly those people who are indulging in such actions.
