New Delhi: Amidst reports of a likely Cabinet reshuffle at the centre in coming weeks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday night chaired a high-level meeting at his residence.
The important meeting which has come in backdrop of the visit of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a series of ministerial appraisal by Modi has indicated that the Government is set to re-galvanise itself as the 2nd wave of Covid-19 is set to decline in the country. The meeting was attended, among others, by senior Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Sadanand Gowda and BJP President J P Nadda. Besides, the Assembly elections to six States including in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Gujarat, next year,
the Modi-Government is set to take a serious shot at reviving economy and to address the major issue of unemployment in the wake of an year-long lockdown. Modi has been reviewing the work of central Ministries over last two-weeks.
The Union Cabinet has not seen a single reshuffle since last two-years and it is expected that fresh induction could happen that may include members from the BJP as well as from allies like JDU, Apna Dal (S) and the Lok Janshakti Party that has witnessed a new leadership taking over from Chirag. Paswan. According to sources, a new major developmental scheme may also be in the offing.
