Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a recent bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden, invited him to the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, said US Ambassador Eric Garcetti. 

According to the US envoy, PM Modi had invited the President during the bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the recently concluded G20 Summit. 

Earlier, media reports claimed that India might leaders of the Quad grouping as



guests for the Republic Day celebrations next year.

According to a report by Indian Express, India is considering inviting Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

Notably, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was the chief guest at this year's Republic Day parade. In 2015, Barack Obama became the first US President to attend India's Republic Day parade as the chief guest.
