Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid obeisance at the Ber Sahib Gurudwara in Sultanpur Lodhi, Punjab. Ber Sahib Gurudwara is the place where Guru Nanak Dev Ji spent 14 years of his life and got enlightenment. He gave the message of humanity and universal brotherhood from this holy place.
Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh and Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal received the Prime Minister on his arrival at Sultanpur Lodhi. Mr Modi has left for Dera Baba Nanak to inaugurate the Integrated Check Post of the Kartarpur Corridor in Gurdaspur, Punjab. Mr Modi will inaugurate the Integrated Check Post (ICP) of the Kartarpur Corridor at Dera Baba Nanak. Prime Minister will also attend a public meeting at Dera Baba Nanak.
The inauguration of the ICP will
facilitate, Indian pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Kartapur Sahib in Pakistan. India has signed the agreement with Pakistan on the 24th of last month on the modalities for operationalization of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor at Zero Point, International Boundary, Dera Baba Nanak.
Union Cabinet had passed a resolution in November last year to celebrate the historic occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Devji in a grand and befitting manner, throughout the country and across the globe. Union Cabinet also approved the building and development of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor from Dera Baba Nanak to the International Boundary to facilitate pilgrims from India to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur round the year, in a smooth and easy manner.
