PM Modi pays tribute to Babu Jagjivan Ram on birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary today. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Babu Jagjivan Ram was self-made and industrious and his contribution can never be forgotten. He said, as a freedom fighter and veteran administrator, Jagjivan Ram's service to India was



impeccable. 

The Prime Minister said Babuji was a true democrat, refusing to bow to authoritarianism. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is observing the day as 'Samta Diwas'. Floral tributes are being paid to Babu Jagjivan Ram at his memorial Samta Sthal in New Delhi.
