Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Centre has taken up development of infrastructure including Railway and road on war footing. Speaking after inaugurating the 107 km Bidar-Kalaburagi railway line at Bidar in Karnataka and flagging off new train, he said this railway project was taken up 30 years back but not completed by the previous government and it led to cost escalation.
Mr Modi criticised the alleged "Congress culture" of stalling projects and keeping them pending. He said that the Congress' work culture is hinder, delay and mislead to stall projects. He said thousands of such projects in the country that was started to reap political mileage but later get stalled. Mr Modi said that the BJP government has
given importance to time-bound work culture.
The Prime Minister also reaffirmed his government's commitment to fighting corruption.He said people of the country would not forgive those who run their businesses with "bags filled with notes". He said such people now feel they have been looted due to demonetisation and that they are now in distress. He said there was a dishonest business of about four thousand rupees in five thousand of the three lakh shell companies, which were closed by the Government.
On the Goods and Services Tax, Mr Modi said all state governments were part of decisions related to it and its implementation was a collective decision of all parties.
