Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address rallies in Santirbazar of South Tripura and Agartala of West Tripura district today.
BJP's state election in-charge and Assam's Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held public meetings in Bagpassa and Khowai constituencies yesterday.
Senior Congress leaders Harish Rawat and Prithviraj Chavan, CPIM Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar also campaigned for their candidates.
Tripura will go to polls on Sunday. The counting of votes will be taken up on the 3rd of next month along with Nagaland and Meghalaya. Elections to the Nagaland and Meghalaya Assemblies will be held on the 27th of this month.
Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing rallies in
Santirbazar of South Tripura and Agartala of West Tripura districts. In view of Prime Minister's visit, security arrangements have been beefed up in the state.
On the other side, addressing the rally in Sonamura yesterday senior Congress leader Harish Rawat criticised the central government and said NDA government has failed in giving employment to the youths.He also said that the price of LPG has been increased during the rule of present government.
While addressing the rally in his constituency Dhanpur, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the policies taken by the central government are not protecting the interest of the people.
He also urged the people to foil any conspiracy attempting to destabilise peace of the state.
