Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Tamilnadu from today. The State BJP Unit has arranged for public meetings at Palladam in Tiruppur and also in Tirunelveli tomorrow. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the first public meeting to be held at Tiruppur this afternoon. Mr. Modi will address from a lotus-shaped dias and it is also said that many important functionaries from other parties will be joining the saffron party.
Later the Prime Minister will address thousands of MSME entrepreneurs working in the automotive sector in Madurai. The initiatives include the TVS open Mobility Platform and the TVS Mobility -CII Centre of Excellence. The initiatives are to support the growth of the MSMEs in the Country and help them to formalise operations, integrate with global value chains and become self-reliant. He will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for more than 17,300 Crore rupees worth of infrastructure projects in Tuticorin tomorrow.
The foundation will be laid for the Outer Harbour container terminal at VO Chidambaranar Port, a project to strengthen India's competitiveness in the global trade arena. The Prime Minister will also launch the Country's first hydrogen hub port of the Country including a desalination plant, hydrogen production, and
bunkering facility. He will launch India's first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel under the Harit Nauka Initiative. The vessel is manufactured by Cochin Shipyard and is a step towards clean energy solutions. He will also dedicate tourist facilities in 75 lighthouses across 10 States during the program.
Mr. Modi will dedicate rail projects for doubling of Vanchi Maniyachchi-Nagercoil rail line at a cost of about 1477 Crore rupees. He will also dedicate four road projects at a total cost of about 4586 Crore rupees. This includes the four laning of NH -844 BETWEEN Jittandahalli-Dharmapuri Section and two laning with paved shoulders of the Meensurutti -Chidambaram section of NH 81, four laning of the Oddanchatram-Kudankulam section of NH -83 and two laning with paved shoulders of the Nagapattinam -Thanjavur section of NH 83.
The project aims to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and facilitate pilgrimage visits in the region. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a public meeting at Tirunelveli tomorrow. On account of the Prime Minister's visit to the State, security has been tightened with the deployment of para-military forces and traffic has been diverted around the venues.
