Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commence the work of Rajasthan Oil Refinery at Pachpadra in Barmer district of the state today. This will be the first oil refinery in the state.
The 43,000 crore rupees project is a joint venture between HPCL and Rajasthan government.
The biggest advantage with the refinery is that it is being set up in the vicinity of its oil
source. The project is expected to generate 10 thousand direct and 40 thousand indirect employment.
Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Union Ministers - Dharmendra Pradhan, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, CR Chaudhary and Rajyavardhan Rathore will be present on the occasion. Mr Modi will also address a public meeting in Pachpadra today.
