New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver a special video address at the G20 Development Ministers’ meeting, under the G20 Indian Presidency, today, June 12. The meeting began yesterday in Varanasi city of Uttar Pradesh.
Union Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar is chairing the meeting, which will continue till tomorrow. Dr. S Jaishankar held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the EU, UNCTAD, Australia, and Germany yesterday. He spoke about the Sustainable Development Summit and third country partnerships.
The plenary sessions of the meeting will begin today at the Deendayal Hastkala Sankul in
Varanasi. The meeting will consist of two main sessions, one on "Multilateralism: Collective Actions for Accelerating Progress towards SDGs” and another on "Green Development: A Lifestyle for Environment. As many as 200 delegates have arrived in Varanasi, including delegates from all G20 members, 9 guest countries, and 10 international organizations.
A cultural evening was organized yesterday for the guests, which began with a visit to Dashashwamedh Ghat to watch the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti. The evening ended with a grand dinner hosted by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath.
