Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a landmark diplomatic tour to France and the US this afternoon, aimed at bolstering strategic, economic, and technological partnerships with both nations.
In France, the Prime Minister will co-chair the AI Action Summit with President Emmanuel Macron which begins tomorrow. Mr Modi will also hold key bilateral discussions and inaugurate India’s new Consulate General in Marseille.
Prime Minister’s visit reports that Prime Minister Modi’s tour marks a major step in boosting India’s global reach and collaboration. As a champion of India’s technological progress, he is set to co-chair the AI Action Summit tomorrow alongside French President Emmanuel Macron.
The summit will focus on establishing ethical and responsible guidelines for artificial intelligence, while also addressing key issues like job displacement, security, privacy, and fundamental rights. Indian Ambassador to
France, Sanjeev Kumar Singla, says, “AI must remain open, secure, inclusive, and trustworthy”.
Ambassador Singla also highlights the inauguration of India’s new Consulate General in Marseille, a major milestone under the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
In addition to the summit and consulate inauguration, PM Modi’s French visit includes several bilateral meetings, CEO roundtables, and a visit to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER).
After his engagements in France, PM Modi will travel to the United States on February 12 for a two-day working visit focused on trade, strategic cooperation, and technology partnerships.
