Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen in New Delhi today. Secretary (East) in the External Affairs Ministry Preeti Saran said the Cambodian PM will hold bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the afternoon.
Later, the two countries will sign agreements in different fields.
Hun Sen will also call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu besides holding a business meeting. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will call on the visiting Prime Minister.
Sean said the Prime Minister of Cambodia accompanied by a large delegation is on a state visit to India . He attended the India-ASEAN
summit and watched the Republic Day Parade.
India-Cambodia relations go back to the 1st century AD when Hindu and Buddhist religious and cultural influences emanated out of India to various parts of South-East Asia. The bilateral relations of two countries are warm and cordial and they cooperate in a number of multilateral and regional fora.
India-Cambodia trade have been growing steadily in the last few years which stood at 187.36 million dollars in 2015. There are about 1500 Indian nationals working in various sectors in Cambodia. Most of them are based in the capital city, Phnom Penh and many of them are employed with international organizations and agencies.
